Helvite Series Visible Spectra (380 - 1100 nm)

• CIT 12885 spectrum, 5K; Helvite from the Hot Spot Mine, Iron Mtn, Sierra Co, New Mexico. This is an orange-brown 0.278 mm thick sample. The color is from its manganese content. Data File: 20K;
• CIT 9305 spectrum VIS region, 0.5 mm thick, 4K; NIR region, 0.090 mm thick, 4K Genthelvite from Diamond Hill, Rhode Island, USA.  This is a pink crystal. The visible region spectrum was taken on a 0.342 mm thick slab and plotted as 0.5 mm.  Data File:  26K.
The NIR region was taken on a 0.090 mm thick slab and plotted as 0.090 mm. The color is from the iron content, but weak Mn²⁺ features can also been seen in the spectrum.
