Osumilite Visible Spectra (350 - 1100 nm)

The color of osumilite, K(Fe2+,Mg)2(Al,Fe3+)3(Si,Al)12O30, is dominated by the Fe2+ - Fe3+ intervalance charge transfer band. Absorption from Fe2+ occurs most intensely in the near-infrared portion of the spectrum.
