Blue omphacite from Guatemala

Abstract

An illustrated report presents information about a new, dark blue omphacite "jade" from a deposit in the Quebrada Seca area, near Carriza Grande, Guatemala. It occurs as thin veins in boulders of greenish blue jadeite.
