The Metropolitan Cathedral in the capital of Brazil
Brasilia is a major hub in the Brazilian transportation system, so several times, we traveled through Brasilia and experienced several hours of lay-over in the city. Some of us immediately found internet terminals in the airport to catch up on e-mail.
During a longer lay-over enroute to Carajas, we hired a coach from the airport and traveled in style to see the sights of the Federal District. We saw the Metropolitan Cathedral, its stained glass interior and the impressive landmark National Congress buildings where the flag proudly flys in the adjacent open square. There are many buildings in the Federal District with modern design and lots of glass.
And, of couse, there were pigeons on the courtyard of the Justice Palace and guards to torment.
